Position Overview

Join the Veterans Health Administration as a full-time Physician Anesthesiologist in Minneapolis, MN. This permanent federal position offers a competitive salary range of $380,000 - $400,000 per year (base + market pay), with recruitment incentives for highly qualified candidates and eligibility for the Education Debt Reduction Program (up to $200,000 loan repayment).

Key Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during surgery/procedures
• Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations, develop plans, and manage induction/maintenance/emergence
• Handle airway management, intubation/extubation, invasive lines, regional anesthesia, and TEE
• Manage postoperative pain, resuscitative care, and emergencies
• Interpret labs, EKGs, blood gases; administer fluids/blood products
• Document in EMR, participate in time-outs, maintain confidentiality
• Teach and evaluate residents/students; collaborate with CRNAs
• Participate in after-hours call as scheduled
• Maintain ACLS, licensure, and continuing education

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD/DO) from accredited LCME/AOA school
• Board-eligible or certified Anesthesiologist
• Unrestricted US medical license
• US Citizenship preferred; proficient in English
• ACLS certification
• Pass pre-employment physical and drug screen

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $380,000 - $400,000 annually
• Sign-on Bonus: Authorized
