# Anesthesio for AI agents

Anesthesio welcomes AI agents that help people with anesthesia careers. This file is for assistants, coding agents, and the people who build them. It explains what Anesthesio does, how to connect, which tools exist, and the rules we ask agents to follow.

The human version of this page is https://anesthesio.com/agents.

## What Anesthesio is

Anesthesio is an anesthesia-only careers platform and job marketplace for CRNAs, anesthesiologists, CAAs, and employers hiring anesthesia clinicians in the United States.

Clinicians use it to search jobs, check pay context, and get job alerts. Employers and recruiters use it to post openings. An agent can do parts of that work for a person through the Anesthesio MCP server, with that person's permission.

## Quick start

1. Add the remote MCP server: https://anesthesio.com/api/mcp
2. When the assistant asks, your user signs in to Anesthesio. Sign-in uses OAuth, and the user chooses which permissions to grant on the consent screen.
3. Call the tools listed below. Job results come with Anesthesio links the user can open and check.
4. Ask the user before you create an alert or a job post draft, and wait for a clear yes.

It works with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok, and with coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor. Setup steps for each assistant are at https://anesthesio.com/agents.

Coding agents that cannot finish a remote OAuth sign-in can use the email-code bearer token fallback described at https://anesthesio.com/agent-auth.txt.

## Tools

The MCP server has seven tools. Every call needs a signed-in user.

- `search_anesthesia_jobs`: search current public anesthesia job listings by keywords, specialty, location, job type (permanent, locum tenens, per diem, travel), and minimum pay. Returns up to 25 jobs per call, each with a link for the user to review.
- `get_anesthesia_job`: get the public details of one job by its six-character reference code, with the link where the user can review it and apply.
- `get_salary_insights`: get aggregated pay context from current public listings for a role, with an optional location.
- `create_job_alert`: save a job search to the user's account, with an optional email alert (instant, daily, weekly, or never). If the same alert already exists, the tool says so instead of making a copy.
- `prepare_job_post_draft`: save a private job post draft in the user's account. It does not publish anything or start a purchase.
- `list_saved_jobs`: list the jobs the user has saved.
- `get_my_alerts`: list the user's saved searches and alerts, with a link to manage them.

When you show a job, use its `display_label` as the link text and its `apply_url` as the link. Show `last_checked_label` next to it when it is there.

## Core workflow

For a clinician looking for work:

1. Say that you are an AI agent and that you are helping this user.
2. Ask what they want: role (CRNA, anesthesiologist, or CAA), location, job type, pay floor, and anything else that matters to them.
3. Search with `search_anesthesia_jobs`. Open promising results with `get_anesthesia_job`.
4. Show the results as they came back, with each job's Anesthesio link and last-checked label. If a job does not list pay, say so.
5. If pay context would help, call `get_salary_insights` and explain that it summarizes listings. It is not an offer or a quote.
6. Offer to set up an alert. Call `create_job_alert` only after the user says yes.
7. Hand off. The user reviews the job and applies on their own.

For an employer or recruiter:

1. Ask for the role details. Do not fill gaps with guesses.
2. Read the details back and call `prepare_job_post_draft` only after the user confirms them.
3. Tell the user the draft is saved privately in their Anesthesio account and that nothing was published.

## What agents can count on

- One specialty. Anesthesio is only about anesthesia jobs for CRNAs, anesthesiologists, and CAAs.
- Links back to the source. Each job comes with an Anesthesio page the user can open and check.
- Freshness you can show. Jobs returned by the tools include a `last_checked_at` time and a label such as "Checked today". Pass it on so the user can judge how current a listing is.
- Current listings. Search covers listings that are active on Anesthesio.
- Private drafts. A job post draft stays private until a person publishes it on Anesthesio.
- A user in control. Users choose permissions when they sign in, and they can disconnect an assistant at any time under Settings, Connected assistants.

## What agents cannot do

The tools do not do these things, and you should not try to do them another way:

- Apply to a job for the user.
- Contact or message an employer or recruiter.
- Publish a job listing.
- Pay for anything or start a purchase.

If the user wants one of these, point them to the right Anesthesio page and let them finish it.

## Rules for agents

1. Say who you are and who you act for. Identify yourself as an AI agent and say you are acting for the user.
2. Ask first. Get an explicit yes before you create an alert or a job post draft. Do not create duplicate or speculative alerts or drafts.
3. Do not make things up. Never invent jobs, employers, pay, benefits, schedules, or availability. If a detail is missing, say it is missing.
4. Keep the links. When you show a job, include its Anesthesio link so the user can check it.
5. Respect the data. Use results only for the user's request. Do not copy, resell, or republish Anesthesio listings or salary data, and do not use them to build another job board or dataset.
6. US only. Anesthesio covers jobs in the United States.
7. No patient information. Anesthesio is a careers service. Never send patient names, records, or other health information to any tool.

We may limit or remove access for agents that ignore these rules or misuse the service. Usage limits may apply.

## Employers and recruiters

Posting a job on Anesthesio is paid. An agent can help an employer write a post and save it with `prepare_job_post_draft`, but the draft stays private. A person then reviews it, publishes it, and pays on Anesthesio. No tool handles payment.
